What technological advancements in communication were discussed in the article?

The technological communication advancements that are discussed in the   article “Superhero in the Cubicle” “Near Time, and Confulence form Atlassian used by John Hopkins University students” (Citrano, 2007).   Then there is the ’IBM Lotus Connections by Big Blue, Smartsheet, Web 2.0 Mashup Server software by Kapow Technology” (Citrano, 2007).

Q:   Choose two (2) communication types and compare and contrast them.   How could these be used in your workplace?

Near-Time shares the similarities and IBM Lotus Connections in enabling the users to a mashup, blog, and wiki because these interact with the Web technology tools that were equipped with the social computing abilities.   Both of the programs advanced technological tools are both very easy to install without having to have a computer degree and very cheap. “Near-Time allows the users to arrange and to pick out the information source and allows them to develop new informal channels,”(Citrano, 2007).     “The difference in IBM Lotus Connections does not allow users to do the same information sorting and creating functions”, (Citrano, 2007).   I use it retrieve information for when I do sermon and it save me time.  
Q:   Do these technological advancements in communication follow what is traditionally considered business communication?   Why?

Although in today’s business work place has to adapts to the always changing setting   I do not think any of these technological advancements in communication that were talk about in the article follow the traditionally the way we considered what I would think business communication would be.
