Background:
You are the owner and CEO of Martin Solar. Your company installs solar panel systems on residential and business structures. Your competitor is Solar Power. For some reason they are receiving more business than you are. You want to come up with ways to increase your profits without raising your prices.
Research Problem:
Martin Solar is losing profits to Solar Power when installing kilowatt systems on residential and business structures.
Research Question:
Is there a difference between Martin Solar and Solar Power as measured by kilowatt instillation?
Research Purpose:
The purpose of this study is to inform management if there is a difference in the kilowatt installation of Martin Solar compared to Solar Power.
Hypothesis:
Ho: The data will show there is no difference between my company and your company as measured by kilowatt instillation.
H1: The data will show there is a difference between my company and your company as measured by kilowatt instillation.
Significance:
The alpha level of significance is 0.05.

Data Collection:
The data for this research study was provided in class on September 22, 2010. The sales between companies will be measured by kilowatt instillation.
