PaulRand is a famous American designer. He is well known for his famous logodesigns such as IBM, ABC, and UPS.   Althoughhe’s famous for his logos, he is also a painter, industrial designer, lecturer, and advertising artist. He is viewed as one of the best of all time. I viewedan interview between Miggs B and Paul Rand and learned a lot from him.

Hetalks about how graphic designer were never looked at as very important andthat he wanted to change the way people thought. He states why us graphic designersare important. If he thinks it’s right than“why bother making more.” His ABC and UPS logo is the only one he brought intothe client. I’ve learned to see why he’s so successful, he knows he’s good atwhat he does, he knows what the client is looking for, and he knows how toassociate a logo with a business and make is successful. It was interesting to seewhen he designed logos for other countries he was still successful because heused universal symbols. He is very knowledgeable and makes me want to be abetter designer.
