Communication between colleagues and other professionals is essential as it will help minimise mistakes and also helps pass over clear and accurate information.Sharing the correct information throughout communication will help us build strong working relationships between colleagues, service users and other professionals.

B. Individuals using the service and their carers.

Because of the nature of the job that social care workers do it is very important that they communicate effectively as this could put the service user at risk and can lead to mistakes and also being able to explain things well and be open to opinions and advice from colleagues.

Identify three ways of finding out the communication and language needs of an individual. For each method, describe how effective it is at establishing the needs of an individual.
