Hard Work Is Always Awarded

Sample Acknowledgement Letter: Recipient’s Name Address Date Sender’s Name Address RE: Acknowledgement of Donor’s Generosity Dear Mr. Jones: I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank you for your generosity in funding the Crohns Scholarship. I am much honored to be the recipient of this award. I am an incoming freshman at St. John Seminary wherein I will be majoring Urban Ministries. I will commence in my Master’s degree program in September 2009. I was diagnosed with Crohns disease in 2004. This forced me to quit my job as a Computer Instructor at a local college, and put on hold my plans to further my education to obtain disability benefits. In 2006, I had two feet of intestines removed and since then I had been struggling with constant trips to the bathroom and lots of uneasy moments. Living with this disease is indeed very uncomfortable and hard. Nonetheless I am resolute in my desire to overcome all my hardships and succeed in my life. And finishing my degree is the first step towards the actualization of my plans. However, aside from my disease another hindrance I have to face in realizing my dream is my financial situation. That is why I was glad to be chosen as one of the recipients of your scholarship this year. Your financial aid would decrease the odds for me and increase the possibility of finishing the program. Receiving this scholarship has motivated me to continuously reach for my dreams, despite my present situation. I look forward to being able to give back to the community someday. I thank you for your confidence and willingness to help me achieve my goals. It really means a lot to me. Sincerely, Belinda Carl
