Context: | The aim of this unit is to give learners the fundamental knowledge of a range of business organisations, and the many factors that shape the nature of organisations operating in an increasingly complex business world. |
Learning Outcomes: | On completion of this unit a learner should: 1. Know the range of different businesses and their ownership 2. Understand how businesses are organised to achieve their purpose 3. Know the impact of the economic environment on businesses 4. Know how political, legal and social factors impact on business. |
Scenario/background to this assignment: | This assignment will aim to allow the learner to develop their knowledge of individual businesses and build on their experiences as customers and employees and ‘walk in the shoes’ of owners and stakeholders. This unit will introduce a range of business activities, and learners will consider the purpose of organisations, the influence of stakeholders, how businesses organise themselves and how the external environment affects business. -------------------------------------------------
Please note: Whilst completing this unit your tutor will either provide you with specific organisations to investigate or on occasion you will be allowed to investigate a business of your choice. It is imperative that you use this assignment brief when completing the set tasks and meet all deadlines set. Merits and distinction criteria will only be accepted if all pass tasks are submitted on time, these tasks require independent research and must be attempted with minimum assistance from the tutor. |
