Religious Article Critique
I can honestly say that I believe that religious view should and should not affect their treatment of others. In saying that I mean that someone who is devoutly religious than they should always treat others the way their God intended, with respect for all mankind. On the flip side I do not think that someone with different religious beliefs should be treated differently because of such. It is not God's will for a Catholic follower to "look down" upon a Jewish follower.

I do believe that humble generosity is alive in many society's today, many going unnoticed. The most prominent may be found in church congregation, during the collection gathering. There are many people that do not have a lot in the way of money but still give what they can to their church. At the same time think of someone walking down the street, in search of employment that stops to buy a fast food burger for the homeless person on the corner - this is also humble generosity. In my opinion anyone who does well for another when they do not necessarily have much to give is acting out "humble generosity".

To rewrite the biblical story, using modern times and settings would be extremely difficult. However, I would use younger characters that would appeal to the younger generations. To replace the poor widow I would use a single, hard working mother and to replace the scribe I would use a team of people to include a minister, priest and someone familiar with law, such as a lawyer. To best illustrate I would use the setting of the mother cashing her small paycheck, only to give a hefty portion of it to her church or to support a person much less fortunate than herself - all while still providing for her family.
