Unit 57:
Contribute to Raising Awareness of Health Issues

Assessment criteria 1.1
Question : Analyse reasons why it may be necessary to raise awareness of health issues
Answer
Effective ways to raise awareness of health issues are:
• Identify any health issues you may become aware of and think about any needs and risks that may be relevant to the individual and key people.
• Once any health issue has been identified, then then those within workplace and any professional agencies outside work (on a need to know basis) should be notified.
• Research information and seek support from other professional agencies to raise awareness.
• Once information has been gathered then the information should be analysed;
• Any information obtained should then be presented to the relevant people.
Being aware of and raising an awareness of health issues helps to keep individuals who need support healthy and therefore less of a strain on society.
