Communication Opinion

      Communication is something that everyone uses in their day-to-day lives. There are many forms of communication such as verbal communication, written communication, health care communication and so many more. Now the type of communication a person may use at any given time will depend on their situation and the reason behind the communication.
Effective Communication
      To be an effective communicator you must be able to listen to not just clients but your coworkers as well and be able to communicate things in a clear way that makes people understand what you need or want. Effective communication is achieved when the sender relays their idea or information to the receiver in a clear way so the message is understood. Next is the delivery of the idea or information to the receiver. This can occur in many different forms some being, face-to-face, a phone call, email etc. Next is when the receiver understands and has processed the information or idea that they have received. This is followed by the receiver communicating in return that they understand the message or if further help from the sender is required. In healthcare I feel that effective communication and basic communication is basically the same thing because all the same rules apply to them both for the most part.
      There are a few ways that the basic elements of effective communication differ to the basic rules of health care communication. One of these differences is making sure you are careful to not us jargon when in a professional health care conversation with others who may or may not understand what you are taking about.
