Communication in Crisis
“Water contamination events are a public health concern worldwide with significant potential to impact the global community.” (Nsiah-Kumi, 2008) Today our city has encountered some problems that will require some intense communication with organizations both internal and external.   We have received reports that our water supply in several areas has been contaminated.   We are working closely with organizations can help resolve the water contamination crisis.   As the Director of the Regional Emergency Management Office, I will be discussing with the community and media the procedures we will use to contain this issue.   We will use all communication efforts to respond to the concerns with the contaminated water supply. To resolve this we will need to develop a crisis strategic plan and allow those that are properly trained to train other and become those key personnel to respond quickly and avoid unneeded harm to the organization and the public.   “A crisis presents an obstacle, trauma, or threat, but it also presents an opportunity for either growth or decline.”
