Topic: Bullying

Specific Purpose: to let my audience know how bullying effects people, what we can do to prevent bullying and the types of bullies.

Intro:

I am here to talk to you about bullying, the emotional effects it has on kids and what we can do about it.

Main Points:

Whats is bullying? Bullying is a form of physical, indirect, emotional, verbal abuse. The latest type of bullying is cyber bullying.  
Physical bullying is hitting, kicking, punching. Causing damage to or taking someone else’s belongings. Verbal is the name calling, racists remarks. Indirect is spending nasty rumors about someone. Cyber Bullying includes 7 types of bullying: the message bully, pic/video bully, phone call bully, email bully, chat room bully, IM bullying and Social media bully.
It comprises repeated acts over time that involves a real person who are more powerful than the ones they believe are powerless. Sometimes the bully calls their victims the target.
The facts about bullying:
                      a. According to the National Education Association an estimated 160,000 children miss school every day because of they fear they may be attacked or intimidated by the other students.
b. Schools here in America harbor approximately 2.1 million bullies and 2.7 million of the bully victims.
c. Statistics shows 1 in 7 Students in Grades K-12 is either a bully or the victim. 56% of students have witnessed some type of bullying. 15% of absentee students is related to the fear of being bullied at school. 71% of students report bullying incidents are a problem at their school.
d. Bullying doesn’t only happen at school, it can happen while you are away via social media. This were cyber-bullying takes place.

5. Most school shooting are a direct result of bullying. The victim no longer wants to be the victim so, they seek revenge.
