Blood Disorders

In Lily’s situation iron deficiency anemia is a type of anemia that can happen in any age.   This is where the blood lacks enough healthy red blood cells that carry oxygen to the body’s tissues.   When a person does not get enough iron in their body the body cannot produce enough hemoglobin in the red blood cells that carry oxygen.   With iron deficiency you can experience a tired feeling and short of breath.   A person can avoid this by taking an iron supplement if not too serious.
Davon’s sickle cell trait is where a person carries the sickle cell defect, but they have a normal hemoglobin about in their blood that prevents them from experiencing or showing any of the sickle cell anemia signs.   Having sickle cell trait can be fatal if not properly addressed.   Having the trait may make a person have to change their life style and avoid any type of strenuous exercising.
Types of symptoms a person may experience is anemia, which is a low count of healthy red blood cells that carry oxygen throughout the body that is needed to function properly.   Exhaustion may take longer to regain your breath after working out then normal people.   Infection: can cause increased urinary tract infections in women and bladder infections in men.
Spencer is experiencing a abnormally low amount of platelets. Platelets help the blood to clot.   Thrombocytopenia is divided in three major causes of low platelets.   Low productions of platelets in the bone marrow, increased breakdown of platelets in the bloodstream, and the increased breakdown of platelets in the spleen or liver.   Getting a complete blood count would show your number of platelets and tell if they are low or not.   Doing a blood clotting study is also available to check and see if you have a problem with your blood clotting.
