                                                      ASSIGNMENT NINE

  1) HOW MIGHT A TEACHING ASSISTANT CONTRIBUTE TO DISCUSSIONS AND DECISION-MAKING DURING TEAM MEETINGS.?

A teaching assistant might contribute to discussions and decision making during team meetings by firstly knowing what the meeting is about and then deciding what they will say in the meeting and how they will contribute.   She could in advance make a few notes, which could include questions and she could also ask to have relevant information about the meeting sent to her.   By doing this it will show good timing and good organisation.   The teaching assistant could also consult with the other staff members.   She could ensure her views are clear, to the point and relevant to the topic that is going to be discussed.   The teaching assistant could also take on to account what other members have said and discuss the issue in a sensible manner. Whilst making a decision the teaching assistant must know the exact reason to why she has made a decision and her answers must be accurate for those who wish to know the reason behind her decision.   If a problem arises during a meeting the teaching assistant could, with the other staff members involved identify the problem.   She could think about reasons that have caused the problem.   By doing this it will help the team members through their discussion and therefore a correct decision in which all staff members are pleased with the outcome.
The teaching assistant could Make a list and use it if necessary,She must ensure that Her preparation for the meeting is sufficient in order for her   to participate effectively,Her contributions are clear and concise and relevant,Her contributions help to clarify problems and identify and assess possible situations, acknowledge and discuss viewpoints of others constructively,She gives clear, concise and accurate information about decisions made at the meeting promptly to those who need to know.
