In Central ,there a several type of architecture style in a small town. Some of them are so grandly, like the legislative council building , some of them are so modern, like the building of the bank of china, and some of them are so dilapidated. these characteristic represent the image of Hong Kong . In this field trip, we went several viewpoint in central, here choose some location i want to discuss that relate to the image of HK. Central-Mid-Levels Escalator It is the longest outdoor escalator system in the world . It links Central and and Western District on Hong Kong Island. It represent the transport facility in Hong Kong is so convenient that you can go everywhere in HK. Also, when traveling on the escalator, we could see the view of central- a busy city. Central Market The precursor of the market was Canton Bazaar. It was the first wet market in Hong Kong. There are two entrances of the market. The Des Vouex Road Central entrance is one the ground floor while the Queen's Road Central entrance bridges the first floor. This old market is now used as a pinacotheca which also provides free Wi-fi service. It is quite funny that in the oldest market provides these electrically service. The Legislative Council Building It is a late Victorian architecture. Many architecture in Central used this style due to it was built in the past that affect by the western style. However, some of the building in Central are in Chinese style (Tong Building). this represent Hong Kong is are multicultural and multinational city. In one street of Central , you can see so many foreigner in bars , walking and driving. Central is a town that full of Chinese and western culture. Bank of China Tower It was completed in 1989 by I.M. Pei, which is the first building using composite megastructure space frame in HK. the idea of this building was mixed with some Chinese culture ( the outlook as bamboo in Chinese means being...
