Flat organisational structures are the opposite of tall structures. Tall structures have more levels of management whereas Flat structures have fewer levels of management; they also have wider span of control. This will lead to more workers being under one manager. But a flat organisational has less levels of management they probably only have the one and they have a small span of control.
Reasons why Havana’s cafe can be described as a being flat, is because there chain of command is not very large also the span of control is narrow because of the amount of people in management. If the span of control was wide Havana cafe will have a lot of employees reporting to the manger. Also the structure is usually or only used for small businesses in this case Havana cafe. Also they have fewer levels of hierarchy. The lines of communication are short.
The entrepreneur is the owner and manager of the business in this case Havana cafe. The owner/manager of Havana is responsible for planning and carrying out all of various functions of their business. They may have some staff to help them but they are the heart of the business.
One reason why it could be described as an entrepreneurial structure is because they have an owner / manager so he owns the business and he plays his part by working there as the manger. Also the owner has staff to help him with the business e.g. cleaning and cooking staff also waitresses. Also because there is one owner and he is the manager as well he is responsible for planning and carrying out different functions of the business. These are reasons why Havana can be described as an entrepreneurial business.
The reason why the entrepreneurial structure helps Havana’s café is the manger keeps all the profit he makes this could help him...
