Sibling Rivalry

Sibling Rivalry

Belie! Belie! Belied she cried
To what avail is circumlocution to an unfaithful man but to circumnavigate the truth?
Truth! Oh Truth! Why should men speak of treacherous truth?
Whose vengeance, yea his deleterious vendetta against his brother would be nothing save detrimental
Let him rot for his treacherous deeds
Let the soles of his feet be in perpetual agony and his self-righteous soul stained with the tears of the faithful
You cannot help them
Nay
You cannot save them
Nay
For thy voice be naught but gurgles and babbling
Ye thy world be submerged by the downpour of faithful tears
The back of men’s throats shall be thy dwellings
The edge of men’s tongues shall be thy grave
The reverse shall be thy brother’s ye thy brother Belie
Remain diffident for thy turn has not yet come
AN EPIPHANY! Woe! Woe! An epiphany!
The epiphany of Christ?
Nay
The epiphany of a faithful woman
Truth! Oh Truth! Has left his home in the back of men’s throats
He has made his bed in the mind of the faithful
She knows now thy churlish heart
No time to save face, no time bowdlerize the words of the past
Ye man has been caught in the web of his dearest companion, Belie
Truth! Oh truth! Why doth thou hate thy brother?
Belie! Belie! Why canst thou not be like thy brother?
These questions have sprung from the understanding of mankind but remain an eternal paradox
For they can never dwell peacefully together
One must be to one and the other to another
And so shall they live until the resignation of time
