Gender inequality has often been a very controversial topic within our societies, communities and the rest of the world. However, the equality of both gender is often misunderstood. This is because gender equality is that both gender are treated equally the same in the sense of human rights and treatment. However, gender equality is not that both genders are equal to specific occupations, skills, qualities and/or lifestyles, although many women nowadays have adopted many of these specificities in order to prove a point. Nevertheless, both just and unjust different treatment of both genders do exist. The difference is generally that men and women are held to different standards due to gender. In this paper, we will discuss examples of both just and unjust treatments in an ethical perspective.
Gender equality and inequality, across the globe, varies tremendously. Continentally, women’s treatment varies due to cultural differences. For example, women in the Middle East are often belittled by their significant others and their societies due to traditional ideology as opposed to western women. Western women endure a different type of inequality in which they are limited to certain jobs, lifestyles, salary wages and qualities similar to that of men. Although, these inequalities aren’t meant to be inequalities because they are viewed as gender traits from a natural biological perspective in a utilitarian manner, utilitarianism can be viewed as a type of discrimination for these biological differences. For example, in the west, women aren’t typically considered good candidates for obtaining a position on a construction site, hazardous jobs within



the military (e.g.: Infantry, Artillery and Forward Observer) and/or high risk jobs such as Oil drillers due to biologically determined strengths. Differently, however similarly unjust, women in other countries, such as Afghanistan, women are often forced do most of the farming, cleaning and...
