Growing up and performing well in school is often one of the more important responsibilities in our lives, with an emphasis on getting an education to be able to advance to our future careers. In order to stress the importance of focus in the classroom to all students, discipline must be enforced in all schools. Most students going to K- 12th grade public schools have the choice to dress to express themselves and practice their First Amendment   rights as an American citizens, but however, what if that gets in the way of their education?There are opposing views as to whether or not a school policy, which promotes a uniform code, restricts students’ of individualism. But even as adults, for example, in banks, big companies and many establishments, employees and bosses wear suits or uniforms. K-12th grade Students are in school to obtain an education, rather than to concentrate on and criticize what students wear; therefore, in my opinion school uniforms should be a requirement.
A school uniform policy which enforces strict adherence to a uniform code of dressing helps to maintain an environment that encourages both focus and social affinity.   Students arrive on campus no longer needing to adhere to want popular culture says is fashionable or not; thus, they are able to attend class with a greater focused on education. The University of Houston conducted an investigation of a vast urban district that adopted uniforms as a mandatory part of their curriculum. The results were in line with my claim that school uniforms improve the education environment in a myriad of ways.
