MOTIVATION FACTORS & EFFECTS ON LEARNERS, WITH THE BENEFITS OF GOOD TEACHING.
Looking at Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, it shows what basics are needed for any form of motivation.
The physiological factor is the working environment, are they hungry, thirsty, comfortable temperature….the working environment.   If people are not comfortable then they will easily become demotivated so the learning quality will drop.
Safety factors are if they feel safe in what they are doing, could be the security of the building, of the material they are studying/work they are doing. If people are not feeling safe then they won’t want to do the work, no work done, no learning taking place.
The common link between the dis-satisfiers and the motivators is the sense of belonging. If a member of the team does not feel that they belong then their enthusiasm will certainly be decreased, having a negative effect on the rest of the learners, the learners need to feel part of a team.
Esteem (also called ego). These are self-respect, achievement recognition etc., the learner will want to feel that they are doing a good job AND being recognised for it, giving them a sense of achievement.
The Self-actualisation is when they feel motivated and are actually doing the work and are happy in doing so. This is the main goal as well as the whole team sharing the same vision, learning and developing well.

There are some other motivational factors, they include:
competence: the importance of the person knowing how to do the job well, if they feel they cannot do it then there is more chance of them not putting in the effort and not learning, coaching is needed here.
Choice: does the person have the freedom or autonomy to do the job and make decisions as he/she sees best? This means that the learner has the ability to make some choices, learn from their mistakes. if they feel they are being treated like a...
