For
 the
  purposes
 of
 this
 essay
 I
 will
 be
  discussing
 City
 Road,
 Cardiff.
 City
 Road
 is
 one
  of
  the
  busiest
 streets
  in
  Cardiff,
 stretching
  over
  a
 mile
  long.
  It
  started
  as
 a
 country
  lane
 over
 200
 years
 ago.
  Through
 much
  of
 the
 twenAeth
 century
 it
 was
 occupied
  by
  tradesman
 and
 small
 businesses.
 By
 the
 1960s
 it
 had
 become
  host
 to
 a
 vast
 number
  of
  car
  show
 rooms,

 number
 of
  restaurants,
 pubs
 and
 take
 aways
 aimed
  at
  students
 and
 ethnic
 minoriAes
 (The
 Street,2009,scene

  are
 many
 examples
 of
 winners
 and
 losers
 depicted
 on
 City
 Road.
 One
 example
  of
  this
 is
 the
 Macintosh
  Centre.
 This
 is
 a
 sports
 centre
 located
 on
  City
 Road.
 The
 head
  tennis
  coach
  there,
  John
  Cooksley,
  (Making
  Social
  Lives
  on
  City
  Road,
  DVD
  , 2012,scene7),

 stated
 that
 the
 people
 who
 use
 the
 centre
 are
 mainly
 from
 outside
 of
  City
 Road.
 This
 in
 itself
  may
 give
 the
 impression
 to
 the...
