  * In the first scenario the defendant was caught sealing marijuana out of her home. This is not her first offense she has already served time for this time before. She is a single parent with two small children and she has a history of spousal abuse. Since marijuana is a small crime and she has problems with spousal abuse along with two small children, she alternative sentencing would be 90 days probation and a 1 year in the House of Ruth. While on her probation she has to go to see her probationer once a week and stay away for marijuana .
  * While in the House of Ruth she would have to participate in the things such as:
  * Counseling
  * Parenting classes
  * Contact no one
  * The last one is very important because if someone finds out where she is they could tell her abuser. If she violates the court order she would finish her time in jail. In the second scenario the defendant was drunk driving and caused an accident. The two victims in the car he hit had significantly hurt but they survived. This is his first offense and his blood alcohol was close to the legal limit.
  * Since this was his first offense his alternative sentencing would be electric monitoring along with a 90 days probation. The electric monitoring is something like house arrest. He would still be able to work and take care of his responsibility. While on the electric monitoring his license would be revoked. If he violates this order he would be sentences to 2 years in jail.
