Reflection on your own work practice is important because it allows you to see what you are doing correctly, where you’re going wrong, it also allows you to see your weaknesses and your strengths, it helps you to identify any further training you may require.

By respecting peoples own rights and beliefs, and by not forcing your own opinions on others, treating everybody fairly.
2.1 Describe how a learning activity has improved own knowledge skills an understanding
Some recent training that I attended was the virtual dementia tour, this was an amazing learning experience, Staff were able to see through the eyes of a person who has dementia, this gave a great insight into why people with dementia do certain things, enabling us to take this information away with us, we are now able to bring this knowledge and skills into practice.
2.2 Describe how reflecting on a situation has improved own knowledge, skills and understanding
By reflecting on situations it enables you to develop your own knowledge, skills and understanding, it also enables you to see what you’re doing right and what you’re doing wrong, where you may need further training on things you don’t understand. Also by speaking to other members of staff who may have more experience in certain situations than you will improve your own knowledge, skills and understanding.
