1.1 Describe the duties and responsibilities of own work role.

As a senior support worker my roles includes:-
• To promote the rights and interests of all service users whilst protecting them from danger, harm
or abuse.
• To provide leadership and guidance to all support workers in relation to all work issues, supporting
them to use and promote effective team working practices.
• Take responsibility for decision making. Act in any emergency situation (and in the absence of the
unit manager) and to apply established protocols relating to emergency situations.
• Under management guidance, Seniors have the   responsibility to oversee the daily routine of the
home, supporting each service user with their day to day care needs and activities, whilst allocating
tasks to support workers to achieve this.
• Responsibility for house financial administration as identified by manager, to include house
budgets, activity money and service users personal allowance monies and their correct appropriation.
• Responsibility for organising and promoting the smooth running of their shifts within the home.
Task allocation to support workers and ensuring any shortfalls in the rota are covered, especially
in the absence of the manager.
• Seniors are expected to challenge poor performance within care provision should it arise.
• Seniors have responsibility to ensure that the environmental needs meet statutory requirements
concerning Health and Safety Regulations and the National Minimum Standards, reporting directly
to the manager any concerns.
• Ensure all evaluations are created with full detail of monthly events,   incidents and service users
physical health any appointments attended
• Create 6 weekly MDT notes for the meetings that take place within the company. These MDT   must be of high standard and include all aspects of the service users well being over the weeks also   all...
