IN THIS ASSIGNMENT WE WILL PICK TWO CONTRASTING BUSINESSES AND I WILL BE EXPLAININGTHE DIFFERENCES OF PUBLIC SECTOR BUSINESSES AND PRIVATE SECTOR BUSINESSES. First of all, I WOULD start WITH EXPLAINING WHAT TYPE OF OWNERSHIPS THE BUSINESSES ARE IN AND WOULD ALSO TALK ABOUT THEM BY SAYING WHO THEIR SHAREHOLDERS ARE, PURPOSE, SECTOR, AND THE BUSINESSACTIVITIES. THE BUSINESS I PICKED ARE NIKE PLC AND NHS AND I WILL GIVE SOME INFROMATION DESCRIBING THE DIFFERENCES AND SIMILARITIES.
NIKE PLC
Nike plc. is designer brand that produces clothing, shoes, bags etc. they are a public limited company and have other 5000 of their products all over the world. Nike plc. is a global business because they are known worldwide by their products etc. there are three ways a business can operate either by being locally, national or globally known.
  * Local: If a business is locally known it means it’s just known within the community it is based in e.g. newspaper.
  * National: if a business is known nationally this means that the business can be based in a little community but all around the country for the citizens to know about the business e.g. morrisons
  * Globally: if a business is known globally this means that the business customers are based all over the world for different kinds of countries to know about the business.
There are 3 kinds of sectors which are; primary, secondary and tertiary sectors. In the primary sector this is when the goods are extracted from nature while in secondary sector this is when they packaging and labelling etc. comes to place and the tertiary sectors is the final process of all where the products are now sold to businesses and consumers of the product. Nike plc. is a tertiary sector because they advertise the products, make sure the goods they have ordered or paid for be protected safely when transporting to be sold to the different shops.
