Regulation (561/2006) is an important part of what we do and base our training on. It outlines the rules on Drivers Hours and Tachographs. It contains all articles and regulations governing commercial vehicles, including exemptions, break, daily and weekly rest etc.

We also have to work with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974. We would need to ensure that the employer is aware of section 2 employers duties to ensure; so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare at work of their employees. Also section 3 every employer is under a duty of care to conduct their undertaking in such a way as to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, that persons not in their employment who may be affected, are not exposed to risks to their health and safety

We would also need to ensure that the employee is aware of Section 7 to take reasonable care for their own health & safety and others who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work and to co-operate with their employer and others to enable them to fulfil their legal obligations. Also section 8 no person may misuse or interfere with anything provided in the interest of health, safety or welfare in pursuance of any relevant statutory provisions.
