The Beach

The Beach: An Always Relaxing Getaway
Have you ever had a dreadful time at the beach? I highly doubt it. The beach can be a very relaxing place to be. There are so many things about the beach that make it a calming place. The most obvious things are the sights and sounds, from the ocean to the beautiful landscape. The less noticeable are what you feel, smell, and believe it or not, taste. There is not much to dislike about the beach, except maybe a bad case of sunburn. Going to the beach can be a calming getaway from the everyday stresses and pressures of life.
The many sounds of the beach can be quite calming. The sound of the waves coming from the massive deep blue ocean and washing up on the shore of the white sand or the sound of them crashing up against the sharp jagged rocks of the coastline are very soothing. Something about the rhythmic timing of each wave causes a relaxing sensation and can almost put you to sleep. Although some individuals find them annoying, I enjoy the sound of the birds on the beach and the sound of a slight breeze, rustling the leaves of nearby trees. Both really connect you to nature which I find very relaxing.
Though you might not think of it, there are many tastes and smells present at the beach. There is something about the smell of the salty sea air that gives reminders of summer making you wish it never ended. You can smell and almost even taste the scent of the flowers as the scent blows toward you with the wind. Another reminder of summer is the odor of sunscreen. It reminds you of a warm, sunny day, summer day. It seems that smell is the most memorable of all the senses.
There are many things to feel at the beach, all of which are rather soothing. The sensation of lying on the hot, soft sand melts away any feeling of stress. The feeling of the bright sun's warm rays instantly puts anyone in a good mood. As a bonus, it is an opportunity to get a nice dark tan. It also feels good when there is a slight crisp breeze coming...
