Thanksgiving

THANKSGIVING
PSALMS 148 & 124 (KJV)
1. Thanksgiving simply means (turned up) giving thanks. It simply expresses your humility. It proves that all you have been and will ever be is by the grace of God.
2. Everyone is mandated to praise God. psalm 148:2 – praise ye him, all his angels. Even the angels are mandated to praise God. Yes David wrote psalms, the mandate was by him, he commanded the angels, but we should note that God spoke through him because the day Lucifer forgot to give thanks was the day his demotion started (plot against God led to his downfall- from morning star to agent of darkness). We should learn from this.
Remember, King Herod,   acts 12:23- And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost, how worms ate his flesh when fully accepted the praises by the people. We should note that the he didn’t actually praise himself, the people did. God tells us here that even when people direct praises to us, we should endeavor to return this praises back to God – Ah! What you did is wonderful- no, we thank God. You know you possess something great (intelligence, beauty, wealth, luck, voice, gifts, success) or know how to carry out some certain responsibilities very well; the day you stop thanking God and start taking the glory for yourself, is the day your demotion starts. You might as well think the blessings will never go away, but remember luke 17: 11- 19- the 10 lepers, only one came back and was made well, the rest were just cleansed of leprosy. They never had the faith that it was God who did it for them.

3. There are good times, tough times, when there is no money, no food, when there is surplus, when someone just comes to give you money, when you are lucky; but we see that this times are still of some note, necessary to give thanks to God – At least this times strengthen our spirits. If you fail a test and you see your result, thank God for the strength to pass...
