Nowadays tattoo became very popular among different layers of society. A tattoo was added to the man from primitive times, reflecting world view and attitude to the life. Development of society, resulting in an association in tribes, did a tattoo as uniting factor, that was called to show belonging to one of the tribes, and being the kind of language, consisting of primitive characters with sacral and magic meaning. Further development took place and in the epoch of totemism, when tribes were divided on births and had certain spirit-ancestor, guarding family. A tattoo was an irreplaceable method to tell about it, and exactly in this period it passes from a category mass in elite category. Soldiery leaders, priests and chapters of births, were only tattooed now. Further development of society resulted in that tattooed the members of different secret societies, clans and workings unions began to be wide used (unions of masons, butchers et cetera). The new wave of popularity of tattoo contacts with development of navigator and piracy. With opening of new earths Europeans met with the tattooed population of America, Polynesia and New Zealand (it is necessary to add that ornamental-totemic style of these tribes stood at high level and saved to our days).
