A zombie outbreak has just hit the U.S.A, ground zero is Monterey, California. The cause, an ancient bacterium estimated to be 60,000,000 years old, dug up from a rock quarry in down town Salinas, California. It all started when a vein of ancient bacterium was punctured by a quarry worker. Within a 36-hour time period, the one worker set off a chain reaction that, consumed with infection, 87% of the County of Monterey. Within 14 days, 79% of the American Continent was infected and within 28 days, the entire world was consumed by the infected bacterium. This essay is about the things that would have to be put into place for the world to recuperate, and, to set mankind on a path of not only survival, but reinstatement to reign over the Earth, as intended.
Surviving the zombie apocalypse is more than the survival of the fittest. It’s the survival of the smartest. Finding and securing sustainable land that can produce not only fresh water, but can be the way of food, possible shelter and security is on the top of the survival list. The location is highly recommended by Max Brooks, author of The Zombie Survival Guide, to be away from houses, streets and any densely populated areas. The more remote this location can be, the better. Carmel Valley serves to be on the list of possible locations, as well as Big Sur. With the dense trees, these places would prove to be ideal for those seeking shelter to survive. Trees can serve to be used as weapons, fire, bedding, structures, security, a home base and much more. While having a sustainable piece of land is desirable, it is not all that is required.
