Sigean

1-It is a zoological park, which is designed to give the animals a territory vast enough to allow nearly the same behavior as in the wild. It is situated in France, 8 km north of Sigean. You can get there by car or by bus, which will take you for about 3 hours if you’re going from Barcelona.
2- The Sigean African Reserve is a home to more than 3 800 animals with an area of more than 300 hectares. There are nearly 900 mammals, 900 reptiles and 2,000 birds.
3- As a zoological Park, The Sigean African Reserve   has four aims :
Research: Add something to human knowledge about wild fauna.
Conservation: To breed animals species which are threatened for the future generations.
Education: Help to a better understanding of wild animals and their relationships with their environment.
Recreation: To have the joy of giving to people the sight of the beauty of wild animals in natural surroundings.
4-The safari park has a huge open territory. It is divided into two areas: drive through area and the on-foot area. As for drive through area you can take your own car or take a guided tour with a bus, which costs about 100-200 euro. It this area you can see such animals as zebras, giraffes, lions, bears, rhinoceros, antelopes and others.
The next area is an on-foot area, if you came with your own car there is a huge parking before this area. Here you can see peacocks, monkeys, elephants, reptiles, turtles, alligators, snakes and others.
