Qnt561 - Data Analysis

1. Graph the 5 main survey variables in a histogram.   On each of the graphs, show the grouped data for C1 compared to C2.

C1MarketLeader | C2MarketLeader |   Survey Rating |
0 | 0 | 1 |
21 | 29 | 2 |
49 | 61 | 3 |
51 | 48 | 4 |

C1StrongFinRatings | C2StrongFinRatings |   Survey Rating |
2 | 2 | 1 |
15 | 24 | 2 |

C1InnovativeProducts | C2InnovativeProducts |   Survey Rating |
1 | 0 | 1 |
16 | 17 | 2 |
70 | 91 | 3 |
45 | 38 | 4 |

C1CompetitivePrices | C2CompetitivePrices |   Survey Rating |
2 | 4 | 1 |
32 | 54 | 2 |
72 | 101 | 3 |
35 | 0 | 4 |
18 | 0 | 5 |

The noticeable trend in these histograms is that in each category, except competitive pricing, the results have the same variance in comparing C1 and C2.   It would seem that if company C2 had a better price competitive structure the other categories could increase in comparison to C1.

  2.   Perform a t-test comparing each of the 5 variables for C1 to C2.   For each question, state the null and alternative hypothesis that you will use for the test. Run the 5 t-tests and for each state whether or not it is significant.
