Lifespan Development and Personality Paper

Developmental psychology seeks to address various aspects of human development, including personality development, social, physical, moral and cognitive. The paper will discuss the influences on all of the aforementioned types of development in the life of Mo’Nique the famous comedian. Mo’Nique has been through some struggles in her life but has managed to come out on top as you can see. This paper will discuss what factors affecting her adulthood (20-65 years). The aspects of human development will be discussed about Mo’Nique in relation to the adulthood stage of development selected.

Introduction
            Developmental Psychology can be defined as a subdivision within psychology which focuses on the study of age-based behavioral changes. This term has been used historically to refer to the behavioral development of children however; developmental psychologists actually study people of all ages observing behavior from the womb until death. Explorers in this field can apply the skills to the treatment of children with psychological disorders, the analysis of psychological issues which relate to education, elder care, criminal cases, and a number of other situations. Psychologist in this field are interested in the intellectual, moral, and emotional development of individuals throughout the lifespan, observing everything from the age infants first respond to particular stimuli to the behavioral changes which occur in the elderly (What is Developmental Psychology, 2007). This paper will discuss the developmental stage adulthood as it pertains to the life of Mo’Nique the comedian. Physical Development

            Mo’Nique is a middle aged woman that seems to have adjust to her physical adulthood. Mo’Nique had been a self-proclaimed big girl for most of her life. Mo’Nique seems to embrace her voluptuous frame....
