Plants Vs Animals Checkpoint

In plant and animal cells there are similarities such as, a nucleus, rough and smooth endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi complex, and the Mitochondria. Some differences for the plant cell would be a vacuole, it has a variety of functions such as; structural support, storage, waste disposal, protection and growth. Chloroplast is an organelle and it allows the plant to absorb energy from the sun that causes a chemical reaction which processes carbohydrates and glucose that can be stored and used later, and a cell wall is like a rigid structure that resides outside the cell membrane with a defined shape that supports everything within the cell. The animal cell has some differences such as, a centriole which is a pair of structures that are composed of microtubules and the function is to construct a cytoskeleton which is a system of microfilaments and microtubules that are responsible for all movement. Microfilaments are also called actin filaments which are solid rods composed of proteins that are called the actin and they are like a twisted chain which supports the movement and the shape of the cell, and lysosomes contain enzymes that aid in digestion of nutrient molecules that break down and release these enzymes into the cell which further digest vital components and then kill them.
This is a short breakdown of some similarities and differences of a plant and animal cell with some of the vast functions of some of the structures of the cell.
