The organization I chose to work with is Sprouts Farmer’s Market based out of Phoenix Arizona.   Sprouts started as Boney’s in San Diego then because of family differences stores split and some became Henry’s. After this happened   all stores eventually became Henry’s but then were eventually sold to Wild Oats who specialize in high end and health food. The Boney family came to Arizona in 2003 and opened their first store in Chandler , Az then Scottsdale Az and now they have stores in Texas, Colorado and California.
Sprouts centers their business around the farmer’s market concept. What is they do different than a traditional farmer’s market would do is they cater to the clients that want to be healthy and eat healthy. As an example they have a very extensive vitamin and holistic department. They have many organic dairy ,grocery and meat products as well.   In fact this philosophy of good and healthy food is incorporated into Sprout’s mission statement which states “ Sprouts Farmer’s Market helping America eat healthier, live longer and spend less”(sprouts.com 2010). Being a new employee has been fun so far, the atmosphere is fun, energetic and there are many opportunities for advancement since the company has 8 7 new stores planned to open this year and 1 early 2011. The Organizational Culture Inventory that was derived from the brief knowledge I have of Sprouts is based on knowledge I have of the entire organization.
