Management in its simplicity is the act of effectively motivating people whom may have different backgrounds, personalities, lifestyles and work ethics to work together towards accomplishing a common goal or project. The usage of management skills are not limited to just the business arena. The dynamics of management can be implemented in households, schools, classrooms and in recreation. Management encompasses four elements, which include planning, organizing, leading and controlling (Bateman & Snell, 2009). Organizational culture, organizational behavior, diversity and communication are also important successes within management.
The process in which ideas and goals shared can be defined as planning. The skill to strategize plays a significant role in the world of management. Implementing systems and processes are important variables to the success of a manager. In my educational profession, I execute planning skills on a daily basis. My responsibility is to ensure student data accuracy and federal compliance. Developing and executing follow through as well as effective communication of these processes are the veins of the success of our schools because incompliance can be the determining factor to lose funding. Communication is key and vital to a thriving organization. Effective communication is an opportunity to share knowledge among individuals whether if the conversation is positive feedback or constructive criticism. I often refer to debates as heated fellowship, which helps lighten the situation and guide the discussion towards a more positive outcome.
