Communication is effective in all aspects of working in adult social care as it supports the development of effective relationships and helps to build trust with people and also aids understanding of the individuals needs. It helps to prevent misunderstandings and supports the development of own knowledge and skills

      Explain why it is important to observe an individuals reactions when communicating with them.
     
It is important to observe an individuals reaction when communicating with them in order to understand non-verbal communication such as facial expressions, eye contact or gestures. To ensure that information has been understood, and to understand when and how to adjust the communication method.

It is important to find out an individuals communication. Language needs wishes and preferences for them to enable their expression of needs, wishes and preferences, to empower individuals, to support their independence, to be able to establish trust between individuals and the care professionals.
