Planning to meet the needs of learners in Education and Training.

When planning to meet the needs of learners the are several processes that need to take place and one of these processes is the initial and diagnostic assessment.
The purpose of conducting an initial and diagnostic assessment which needs to be completed by the learner,   given by a trainer, tutor, mentor or assessor by the training provider. It’s a important process and should be done once the learner has shown interest in a course and be done as part of the application process, the most common initial and diagnostic assessments are based on numeracy, literacy and ICT also refered to as functional skills this can be done via internet or paper based ,   as this provides   information ad to the level the learner is currently on,and have some understanding of, knowledge, experience and   achievemenner can start from, and build up for the learner to attain their qualification/s, with positivity and encouragement thrmet using having adequate resources and information to plan with the learner how this can be achieved together, this is to encourage the learner to feel more positive about their learning experience. This has to be inconjuction   with government legislations e.g. Equality and Diversity, Health Safety, Data Protection and   Policy and Procedures set by the training provider. I can also decide the appropriate assessment method to use according to the learners individual learning style e.g. visual or audio impairment. Able to make provisions to ensure all learners are included.
There are several methods which an initial assessment can be done, such as observations, group discussions, self-assessment, interview or as a one to one. Whatever method is used, the assessment should contain a skills and knowledge assessment. All in accordance to meet the awarding body and organisations criteria.
Once the assessment has been completed, it needs to be recorded, I like my learners to sign and date a tick...
