INTRODUCTION
The role of the Manager is evolving with the change in competitive business environment and the realization that Management must play a more strategic role in the success of an organization. For many years, organizations have limited their productivity enhancement of employees to the acquisition of skills. However,   about   86%   of   productivity   problems   reside   in   the work   environment   of   organizations (Akinyele, 2010).   The type of work environment employees’ work, to a large extent determines the way in which an organization achieves it objectives. The Manager is as such faced with the issue of efficiently managing employees in a rather complex work environment towards attaining the overall goal/target of the organization. This paper is aimed at analyzing the Challenges of managing in a typical Nigerian Work Environment.
