What was the Manga Charter ( Magna Carta ) ?

The Magna Carta was a product of the power struggle between King John and

barons in a year 1215. The Magna Carta ( Great Charter) was written in Latin, as

Latin was the language of the law. History shows that the Magna Carta was first

written constitution. The Magna Carta is one of the most influential documents in

history and law. The Magna Carta has sixty four articles, which was limitads the

power of the English kings.

Article12- stated that the imposition of the benefits the king should obtain the

consent of the Kingdom

“No scutage or aid shall be imposed in our kingdom unless by common counsel of

our kingdom, except for ransoming our person, for making our eldest son a knight,

and for once marrying our eldest daughter, and for these only a reasonable aid shall

be levied. Be it done in like manner concerning aids from the city of London. “
