Madagascar

My country is Madagascar and the capital city is Antananarivo. At first all I thought about was the movie but then I learned that Madagascar is an island located on the continent of Africa.   Madagascar also known as several different names, consisting of but not limited to: the Red Island, Rainbow Island, or the eighth continent because of its massive land mass. Madagascar is home to many different religions, ethnic groups, and animal species. Over 20 different ethnic groups can be found in Madagascar: Malayo-Indonesian, Cotiers, and they also have several different ancestries. The ancestries consist of: Arab, Betsimisaraka, Tsimihety, Antaisaka, French, Indian, Creole, Comorman. The island was first founded by the Europeans the French arrival was in 1833
There are many beautiful landmarks on the island of Madagascar. Mt. Moromokotro is the highest mountain on Madagascar at 2,876 meters high.   It is located in Tsaratanana Massif just inside the Tsaratanana Reserve in the northern part of the island.   Andringitra National Park is in South Madagascar.   It has waterfalls and very tall mountains.   This National Park has one of highest peaks in the region “Pic Bobby”. There is also two beautiful waterfalls in this National Park: Riandahy and Riambavy falls.   Some of the rivers in Madagscar are: Mangoro, Namorona, Mandrare, Morondava and Sambirano.   All of the landmarks are main points of interest for tourist.   Along with a few other national parks: Ranomafana National Park which is home to an endangered golden bamboo lemur. Masoala National Park which has 10 species of Lemur, including the Aye-Aye, the world’s largest nocturnal primate.   Royal Hill of Ambohimanga this is the most sacred spot by the Malagasy people, former home of King Andrianampoinimerina.   The Avenue of the Baobabs is a group of trees lining the dirt road between Morondava and Belon’I Tsirbihina. The Baobas are up to 800 years old and started in dense tropical forest but now are in an isolated area...
