Luis Perez is a forty one year old immigrant from Argentina. His parents, eight kids and his wife came to the United States looking for more opportunities for his children. He was successful in Argentina with his winery business so he purchased a small piece of land so he could continue in the business. Luis is a family man who supports his family any way necessary and is the primary decision maker. Luis has found it very stressful in everyday life and needs help. This paper will discuss the hardships that Luis has encountered since he and his family has moved to the United States.  
There are many strong influences on Luis' behavior.   Luis is a family man. Even though he is sick and dealing with financial burdens including the cost of his father’s funeral he still pushes himself to the limit just to bring money in for the family. Another influence would be his wife Maria. Maria has known Luis her entire life. They married young and have been together ever since. Maria has no family, so Luis is the only family she has. Luis has plans to pass the family business to his oldest son Rolando. His hopes and dreams for Rolando push Luis to better his son’s life.
As Luis transitions from middle adulthood to late adulthood he will go through many changes. As Luis keeps pushing himself at work, he will get sicker. He already has an illness he will eventually stop working and then all the duties will be pushed onto his oldest son Rolando. As it is, Rolando does not want to continue in his father’s business and wants to go to further his education. Luis is forty one and has his ninth child on the way. The stress of another child, his financial burdens and the stress of the loss of his father is only making his transition harder and will cause him to have continued issues with his health.
