My job role is Manager at Evendine House Residential Home.   The home is registered for 20 residents, most of who are at various levels of dementia. All together there are 28 members of staff that I am responsible for, ranging from domestic assistants, caretakers, kitchen staff and care workers.   It is my responsibility as manager to create a safe caring environment for the residents and to promote a positive and inclusive atmosphere, promoting dignity, independence and choice. Therefore, we are creating our own beach party, which will include a beach and punch and Judy show. (promoting healthy lifestyles – mental and physical health)
The whole philosophy of care has changed and we pride ourselves that we are now a home for life, as long as we could reach their individual needs. Prior to this,...
