Legalization of Marijuana

Legalization of Marijuana
I moved to Georgia when I was in the eighth grade, and it was at this time when I was first encountered with marijuana usage. The majority of the people there, whether they were smart, intellectually lacking, poor, rich, black, or white smoked weed. At the time this really shocked me because I knew nothing about it, and for me it was just another one of those “bad” drugs. However, now that I am informed of the reality of what marijuana really is, I have come to the conclusion that the only real problem with marijuana is the fact that it is illegal.
The strongest argument I have seen against the legalization of marijuana is the fact that it impairs one from their regular state of mind. The simple retort to the impairment argument is that there are many things on the market that are legal yet cause individuals to become impaired from their usual state, and in some cases even more so than marijuana. Alcohol, for instance, immediately causes people to lose the ability to judge situations, and even worse than that, hurts user’s abilities to judge right from wrong. Anyway, whether it is alcohol, marijuana, medication, or coffee people intake substances every day in order to change the way they feel or act, and though it might not be the best way to solve these problems, it is and has been a very common thing in the world.
As I stated previously, the first time I encountered weed was in Georgia, but I really learned about it after I moved to Germany. I had the idea that it was only popular in this one section of the states, but after moving to Germany, and going to school on a military base with people from all...
