1.2 Explain how effective communication affects all aspects of your work (effective communication is when what you communicated is received and understood by someone in the way it was intended). Effective communication is crucial in most aspects of my work. I have to be informed about all needs of the residents. I have to know exactly what they expect me to do so I communicate with my colleagues to get all jobs done properly. |
1.3. Why is it important to observe an individual’s reactions when communicating with them. Observation of reactions helps me determine if the individual I am communicating with understands the message I am trying to pass. Also Observing e.g. face expression after passing a bad news will help with reacting accordingly to the individual’s needs. |
2.1 Explain why it is important to find out an individual’s communication and language needs, wishes and preferences. Knowing language needs, wishes and preferences is very important as it enables me to take good care of the residents and do my job properly.2.2 Describe a range of communication methods.a)-Verbal-Non-verbal e.g. Gestures b)-Face to face communication -Television -Radio-Postal services-Online communication-Telephone calls -Add description. |
