How would you build and maintain effective relationships with children, young people and adults?
It is important for a child or young person to be encouraged and motivated in order for them to achieve their full potential in both their educational and social skills. Communication is important in establishing good positive relationships.
To build an effective and positive relationship there must be mutual trust, security, assertiveness without aggression, active listening and understanding and interaction. As a Teaching Assistant you will need to demonstrate and model effective communication skills.

Communicating by speaking clearly, face to face will ensure they can see and hear what the speaker is saying. Hearing the words of a child or young person and how they express themselves and their meaning. Responding with open questions and words of encouragement will give the child or young person confidence to speak freely and express their thoughts and opinions.
