1.2 DESCRIBE THE MAIN POINTS OF HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

• To secure the health, safety and welfare of people at work
• To control the use and storage of dangerous substances
• To protect others by minimising and avoiding risks occurring from activities
• A set of standards that must be upheld in order to provide a safe working environment
• To undertake regular health and safety checks and to report and document any findings.
• To ensure that adequate training had been provided

1.3 OUTLINE THE MAIN HEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES OF
THE SOCIAL CARE WORKER/YOURSELF

• Take reasonable care of own and others health and safety
• Must use any aids or personal protective equipment as required
• Not to interfere or tamper/misuse anything that has been provided for the health, safety and welfare of everyone
