For my health care interview assignment I chose to interview Dana Dodd, Certified Nurse’s Assistant. She works at Provident Care in Modesto California. In my interview with her, she describes to me her current position, her job duties, her patients and just how she interacts with others. She also goes into detail about her education and how it got her to where she is today in the healthcare field. She also explains the education requirements that are necessary for the job.
Provident Care was started by a home care nurse who saw the need for a high-quality home care service that met the needs of seniors in the community. (Provident Care, n.d) Provident Care covers activities of daily living, transportation, disease management assistance, and so much more. Their services consist of in home care, assisted living placement, and elder transportation. Provident Care has received the Best of Home Care award from 2010-2013. They expand their wonderful services to many areas such as Stanislaus County, San Joaquin County, Merced County and the East Bay Area. This wonderful company has been offering their services to clients since the year 2000.
Dana Dodd is an in home health care assistant. She mainly helps the elderly but occasionally she will have a patient who is younger and who has a disability. Her daily duties vary upon which client she has that specific day. Her duties can consist of many things such as bathing and dressing, helping with personal hygiene, toileting assistance, meal planning and preparation. She may also need to help with housekeeping and laundry, care and companionship and also safety and supervision. Her job can go outside of the home as well.
