Unit 501 Promote a positive health and safety culture
I was approached by the Managing Director to take responsibility for all H&S matters within the Electranet Group of companies in 2009 as the H&S ethos of the group and lost its way and was failing.   My first task was to promote H&S and gain buy in from all personnel and to demonstrate to our customers that we had a proactive and positive H&S culture within the company, this was achieved with the awards on an Aspire Defence Contract that the brought the company‚Äôs reputation to the forefront as a leading example of how H&S should be demonstrated within the work place and the achievement of two awards. (Evidence E 0010, E0011 and E0012)

1.1 Be able to advocate commitment to a positive health and safety culture in the organisation: This is an ongoing process within the business and starts with the company induction process on day one.   I reviewed the current induction presentation and brought it in line with current legislation.   All personnel where re-inducted using the new presentation and any new employees joining the company are given the health and safety induction as part of their first serial on the induction day (Evidence E003).

On completion of their induction process all personnel are signed up to an E-Learning H&S portal called Human Focus (www.Human this is a H&S training portal that has a plethora of courses that individuals have to complete within a given time frame.
