Job Purpose:
Controls product flow through inventory by managing staff; receiving, storing, securing, and distributing product.
We are an Electronics Recycling company looking for an operations manager capable of setting up a full inventory control system. You must be able to work on your own to develop product flow charts and create a complete system. The system will need to help us with ISO 9001 and 14001 certification as well as limiting losses. You must be able to work independently to create systems and to manage a large staff of warehouse employees and drivers.
* Maintains inventory control staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities.
* Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
* Maintains safe and healthy work environment by enforcing safety and health policies and procedures.
* Secures product in storage facilities by maintaining security guard force. Provides product when and where needed by controlling product flow into, through, and out of the distribution facility. Maintains storage levels by adjusting production.
* Reduces cost of inventory by maximizing just-in-time product completions. Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards; minimizing inventory levels; recommending new material handling systems. Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information. Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by enforcing regulations.
* Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
