SUBJECT: Preparatory Activities for fine motor skills.
ACTIVITY: How to transfer pouring beans from one jug to two unequal bowls.
TYPE: Individual
AGE: 2.6+ years onwards.
MATERIAL: One tray, a jug filled with beans and two unequal bowls.

PROCEDURE:-
Note: The teacher has to ensure that the material is adequate, clean and in proper order for use.

• Invite the child and introduce the activity.
• Ask him to unroll the mat.
• Introduce the material to the child. Now show the child, this is a tray, jug filled with beans and two unequal bowls. This is big bowl and a small bowl.
• Pick up the jug with the help of three right hand dominant fingers supported by the two left hand dominant fingers from the bottom side of the jug.
• Pour the beans into the big bowl.
• And then pour the beans into the small bowl and keep the jug carefully.
• Now pour the beans back into the jug.
• Pick up the big bowl, always use both hands to all the fingers and pour the beans into the jug.
• After that pickup the small bowl and pour the beans into the jug.
• Invite the child to do the activity.
• Let the child do the work with the material whenever he wants.
• Ask to the child “Did you enjoy the activity?”
• Let’s pick up the tray filled with material with both hands and keep it back in it’s place on the shelf.
CONTROL OF ERROR
• In case of spillage pick it up to pincer grip and drop into the last filled container.
• Minimum noise.
• Minimum spillage
POINT OF INTEREST
• Introduce the material to the child.
• Use the three dominant fingers while picking up the jug
• Always use both hands while picking up the bowls.

• To pour beans one jug to two unequal bowls.

• Development of personal and social development skill in the child.
• Develop manipulative skills of the child.
